{Memory in Reverse}

This is my and my friend Christie Liskey's first group of art & writing.  She has a huge collection of sketches and paintings, and I've matched some of those pieces with excerpts from my collection of writing. We'll start another chapter now in the art + writing section.

Sequence One:
Memory in Reverse

 ***

On Days like This

Between life imagined and life lived, distance swells a sea.

***

 Bone Socket Dialects

In the voice of a dream, worry sands syllables from tooth to nerve.

***

How to Scream

Beat my finger's pulse onto your finger's pulse to make us both audible.

***

Estuarine Logic

A shipwrecked church with broken windows found your plastic eyes.

***

 Nostalgia

The past, as you know, is the safest place to live since its nightmares have already been dreamt.

***

  Tides

Somewhere else, we are white sand orchestrating water.

***

 Insomnia

Knowledge of night is a feeling not even a lifetime can master.

***

Recollection

The way the world looks through fevered eyes is how first memories unfold.
